Mark your calendars and practice up for the first open mic of the 2019-2020 class!  Doors open at 6pm for jamming.  Pizza at 6:30pm.  Performances start at 7pm.  Come share your wonderful music with us, or just come to listen while supporting your fellow musicians.  $10. suggested donation.  $5. for pizza.

Tygh Valley Jamboree: Tygh Valley, OR. September 27th to 29th.

 The finale festival of the season, this one is special for that reason and also because it is located in a beautiful valley in central Oregon surrounded by rocky buttes with clear skies at night and a billion stars. Settle in under the locust trees for some of the best jamming of the summer. Bring ear plugs if you want to get any sleep that weekend. Big RVs need to reserve a space well in advance.

Nu-Blu's heart and soul is husband-and-wife duo Daniel and Carolyn Routh. Carolyn's caramel-coated soprano is one of the bands defining traits--at times a tender lullaby, at times a freight train headed straight for you, but always unwinding a surprising tale. Daniel is the group's backbone, a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. Zach McCracken (banjo) and Justin Harrison (fiddle/mandolin) round out the quartet's warm, layered, American roots sound that builds to a full country sound. Together they deliver upbeat, blazing-fingers pick work just as well as gentle, heartwarming ballads, and they do it all with a natural togetherness that cant be faked, forged over hundreds of shows on the road.

3rd Annual Waverly Jamboree Sunday, September 15!

Join us at Waverly UCC for our third annual musical jamboree featuring  Japanese Koto, Bridging Voices Youth Choir, and Taborgrass music from Shoegrass.  

Celebrate our partnership sharing space with some of Portland's finest artists and musicians.

The concert will begin at 3:00 in the Waverly sanctuary followed by popsicles and ice cream bars for all.

Come kick-off fall with us. A family friendly event.  No cost.  Hope to see you there!

New Fiddle Tune! June Apple

June Apple is a traditional fiddle tune found in a collection of old mountain tunes of the North Carolina region published in the 1920's. Fiddler Tommy Jarrell recorded it in the late 1960's.
