...We're Back!

Good News Taborgrassers!

Taborgrass is going to be back at Waverly with some in person classes starting October 9! (Also stay tuned for some upcoming Zoom bluegrass bootcamp workshops to get your fingers back in shape!) We're so excited to get back at it after a Summer break, and can't wait to see you.

Here's the details:

Classes start October 9, and will happen every Saturday at Waverly UCC 3300 SE Woodward Street
Portland, OR 97202

We've got some brand new classes we're super excited to show you. Here's the schedule:

Saturdays:
Song Class 12:30-1:45
This class is all about how to learn and jam on bluegrass songs. We'll be walking you through some bluegrass classics, working on their chord progressions, melodies, and lyrics. The focus will be on giving you new songs to call at a jam.

Tune Class 2:00-3:15
This class is all about fiddle tunes! We'll be learning some jam favorites from the bluegrass and old time repertoire, focusing on getting the melodies in our heads and the notes in our fingers.

This class is melody oriented; if you're a banjo or dobro player that isn't used to playing the same melody a fiddle might play (e.g. rolling through a tune) but would like to learn fiddle tunes, get in touch with us at taborgrass@gmail.com.

Jam Class 3:30-4:45
A whole class just for jamming! Here we'll be working on all the ins and outs of playing music with other people. We'll work on calling songs, taking breaks, listening in, and communicating with your fellow jammers. Bring a song or tune to call!

Open Jam 12:30-4:45
Back by popular demand! We'll have a room set aside for folks interested in just getting together to play. To coordinate jam times with other Taborgrassers, head on over to our facebook group

Pricing:
$10 for one class, $5 for each additional class
$5 suggested donation for the open jam
